TxDOT was working to relieve traffic in El Paso. TxDOT said the work on the Loop 375 and I-10 interchange is on track to be finished within the next two years. The El Paso Association of Builders estimates that over the next 20 years, traffic at the Americas Interchange will increase by 50 percent. There are other projects along Loop 375 that are also on track. Blanca Del Valle said there are a number of projects in the works and we will see a lot of changes in the years to come. "We are working hard to address traffic... increase of traffic so you will see changes and I think it's all for the better. Also, in the Fall, TxDOT will start work to relieve congestion along I-10 in East El Paso. They're preparing to add a lane eastbound and westbound from Zaragoza to Joe Battle. It's unclear when it will be complete. During these construction projects, Del Valle said all drivers can help them. "Obey all the signs, the detours, slow down and be careful with all the construction workers. They all have families. They all work hard. They also want to get home so just drive safely through the work zone," said Del Valle.
