Two lawmakers are asking students across El Paso to volunteer month. Congressman Silvestre Reyes and Ruben Hinojosa stopped at Armendariz Middle School today to encourage students to give back to their community by volunteering in various activities. One student says it's never too early to start.
"Everybody needs to at least volunteer some time in their lifetime," said eighth-grader Annabeth Bridges. "If they start young, then it's better. Maybe they can get used to volunteering more and help out a lot more."
The challenge is part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance that honors the victims of September 11th.
