El Paso County Sheriff's Spokesperson Chris Acosta identified one of the victims as James Smith, 49.

Acosta said Smith's family reported him missing earlier in the week. She also said it was one of his family members who found him in Canutillo and reported it to deputies.

The second victim has not been identified.

UPDATE:

El Paso County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Chris Acosta said deputies are handling the investigation as a homicide.
