EL PASO — There's a new twist in the case of a Texas truck driver who entered Juárez carrying a truckload of ammunition. Last Friday we told you that Jabin Bogan was released from prison after paying a $1500 fine. It now turns out that's not the case. An El Paso lawyer assisting with the case, Carlos Spector, says the 27 year-old is still behind bars inside a Veracruz prison and that the family hasn't paid a fine, despite a press release from the Mexican prosecutor in the case stating that Bogan had been released.
Bogan claims he was delivering a truck of ammunition to a wholesale dealer in Phoenix last April, when he accidentally made a wrong turn while on the interstate, and ended up in Juárez. His family says a judge has now ordered them to pay a $5,000 fine for Bogan's release.
