EL PASO (KDBC) — Thousands of people laced up their shoes Sunday to remember a 14-year-old boy and support youth in our community. Braden Aboud was killed in a skiing accident in Ruidoso in 2007.
His family organized The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation and Sunday was their seventh annual walk and run.
Braden's mother said more than 8,400 people took part in the run. Seven-thousand participants were children, making it the largest youth race in the nation.
Proceeds from the race go to The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the health and educational development of the youth of El Paso.
