The first hearing related to the indictment of Texas Governor Rick Perry begins today, Friday.  An Austin grand jury indicted Perry last Saturday, charged him with abuse of power and coercion of a public servant.

Perry has called the indictment against him "a farce" and says it's politically motivated.  While the first hearing in the case starts today (Friday), the governor isn't required to attend. In fact, Perry will be in New Hampshire which is a politically important state in the 2016 Presidential campaign.

Governor Perry's bond is expected to be set at 25-thousand dollars and he's expected to be freed on personal recognizance.

I'm like most EVERYONE else in the state and NATIONWIDE; this indictment is very weak and full of crap and will be thrown out. Now whether it affects him getting elected President of the United States is a different matter. Ted Kennedy killed a girl in 1969 but it cost him being President but kept him in the United States Senate till he died
