Washington — The U.S. Supreme Court is holding a closed-door meeting next Friday to review five cases related to gay marriage.
The justices will decide if any of the cases will be put on the court's schedule for arguments next year. Each of the same-sex marriage cases will seek to overturn "the defense of marriage act" signed into law by President Clinton. Gay and lesbian couples are seeking the same social and economic benefits available to heterosexual couples.
