(CNN) — A 6.3-magnitude earthquake has struck the western Chinese province of Xinjiang, the U.S. Geological Survey said Sunday. The epicenter is located 282 km (175 miles) east of Hotan, Xinjiang, and the depth of the quake is 9 km, the USGS said.
