Stolen vehicles set on fire in East El Paso County desert

El Paso police are searching for the suspect, or suspects, accused of setting vehicles on fire in the desert in Far East El Paso County.

According to Javier Sambrano with Crime Stoppers of El Paso, Texas State Troopers in a Department of Public Safety helicopter found three burned vehicles in a desert area along Montana Ave., east of Montana Vista.

The vehicles are a 2011 Hyundai Tucson, a Ford F150 and a 1977 Chevrolet pickup truck.

Police later determined two of the three vehicles had been reported stolen in El Paso.

Sambrano said the suspects could face auto theft and arson charges.
