The Spring Equinox may be on Thursday, but everyone knows that spring isn’t really here until baseball season kicks off.

The Southwest Baseball League is ready to get spring started with a crack of the bat on Saturday, March 22 at the league’s 2014 Spring Season Opening Day event.

It will run from 11am - 12pm, with baseball games afterwards at Irwin J. Lambka Park, 6600 Cloudview Dr.

This family-friendly, community-wide event will include a parade of the teams, local dignitaries and league sponsors, the Color Guard from Canutillo High School, the National Anthem, raffles, prize giveaways, and, of course, baseball.

This season, the Southwest Baseball League is comprised of 51 teams and more than 560 baseball players.
