It became official Monday night, after 20 years in office Art Franco will no longer serve as the Mayor of Anthony, Texas.

However, also at Monday night’s meeting city council officially added new members Joanna Rivera and Joe Garcia.

Franco did win the election earlier this month after running unopposed, but Franco days before that plead guilty to a felony.

A special election will be held in November to replace him.

At the next meeting on May 28th council will appoint a mayor pro temp, since the current was defeated in the election.
