Deadly snakes could be lurking in your backyard.
Central Texas hospitals are concerned about a spike in snake bite cases.

So far this year, more than 100 people had to be treated for snake bites, 36 of those were children.

Emergency room doctor Christopher Ziebell says minutes count when a snake bites you and the most common mistake is not getting treatment.

Experts say snakes lurk on hiking trails, in greenbelts and they could be in your backyard like Griffiths.

Getting bitten on the hand and the legs are the most deadly spots.

If you see a snake, stay out of its path, call animal control to move it and if you are bitten to call 911 immediately.
