Sinkholes are not very common in El Paso, reality was different today, El Paso Water Utilities workers were called to the scene at the intersection of Giles and Adobe in the morning after drivers were shoked to see the road breaking, reports indicate that a high pressure water line broke inside the road which caused the pavement to literally break down.

After several hours of clean up east bound on Giles was re-opened, workers said the rain had no effect in the sinkhole, this situation affected several drivers and local businesses, "Lunch Box Restaurant" owner Maria Olivas said they had to turn away more than 20 customers, the sinkhole caused a lack of water in the neighborhood so the restaurant couldn't operate.

The southbound lane of Giles will be closed overnight from Hacienda to Carolina.
