Sierra Medical Center has acquired the DaVinci robot.

This single-site technology will provide a less invasive and less painful gallbladder surgery.

This system enables surgeons to operate on the patient with the end result of virtually scarless surgery, minimal pain, low blood loss, fast recory and a shorter doctor stay.

"This machine helps because of the visualization that's possible with a robotic scope and camera" said Dr. Paul Arellano, a general surgeon at Sierra Medical Center.

During the procedure, the surgeon is able to view a 3D, high-definition image of the patient's anatomy. The surgeon uses controls below the viewer to move the instrument arms and camera.

"To be one of the first hospitals to offer this technically advanced surgery demostrates Sierra Medical Center's leadership in providing patients with the most up-to-date minimally invasive surgical options" said Dr. Arrellano.
