EL PASO - El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles said today people shouldn't be surprised that bullets have struck in El Paso.Unknown Object
"The drug cartel and the police have high-powered weapons," Wiles said. "There's potential that these weapons can hit someone or something."
He said the gunfire is unfortunate because El Paso and Juarez depend on each other so much.
Sheriff's Wiles also said any enforcement efforts against border violence are the domain of federal agencies.
