El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — A group of far East El Paso residents say they'll no longer stand in the way of plans to build a new power plant off Montana Avenue near Zaragoza.
The group, called Far East El Paso Citizens United, has reached a settlement agreement with El Paso Electric after a more than one year long legal battle.
The power company has agreed not to build additional turbines at the plant.
EPE and residents have also agreed to create a Citizens Advisory panel, which will allow the Montana Vista community to address concerns that might arise.
