EL PASO - The Socorro School Board is considering longer hours for crossing guards near school campuses.
The school board met Tuesday night, for the first time since the accident last week that killed an 11-year old girl.
A pickup truck with the right of way struck Michelle Solis on a crosswalk outside of Bill Sybert Elementary.
The accident happened about 4:20 pm, but crossing guards only work until 4:00 p.m.
The board is considering longer hours for crossing guards, but made no final decision at the meeting.
