San Elizario election set for May 10


County Judge and Commissioner Vincent Perez will outline details Tuesday morning

Monday, County Judge Veronica Escobar officially called for an election to take place on May 10, 2014 for mayor and five at large alderperson positions for the newly created municipality of San Elizario.  Judge Escobar & County Commissioner Vincent Perez will discuss detailed information for citizens and those interested in running for office Tuesday morning during a press conference in the San Elizario Placita. 

On November 5, 2013 residents in San Elizario voted to incorporate as a Type A general-law municipality.  Of the 611 who voted, 88% cast ballots in favor of the incorporation. 

On November 18, 2013 during the Commissioners Court meeting,  County Judge Escobar signed the Order of Incorporation which officially established the County's seventh and newest municipality.
