RUIDOSO, N.M. — The holiday season has been a good one in Ruidoso after recent winter storms have brought in thousands of tourists to experience a day of sking at Ski Apache.
With hundreds of people hitting the slopes that means more business throughout town.
"It's been very good this year," said Riker Davis of Condotel, a property management company in the village. "We were about two properties short of sold out for Christmas."
Davis said they are booked through New Years but after the holiday things do slow down a bit.
Ski equipment rentals have also been holding steady with the thousands of people visiting the area.
"We"re counting our blessings here cause when we have a good winter that's just gravy," said Gina Kelley, director of tourism.
Kelley said Ruidoso sees most of their business from West Texas tourists and a lot of Mexican nationals coming from as far south as Monterrey.
