El Paso, TX (KDBC) — Researchers at UTEP are developing a treatment to remove harmful chemicals found in everyday products from water.
The compounds called EDC's are found in plastics, detergents and pesticides.
According to researchers, these chemicals are capable of causing reproductive problems in humans and wildlife.
There are currently no regulations that require removal of EDC's but the team hopes this research will provide water utilities around the world with an effective treatment process.
