LAS CRUCES, N.M. — With only days left before the October 9th voter registration deadline, the push is on to get borderland residents registered to vote for the November 6th general elections.
To become a registered voter the person must be an American citizen, 18 years old by election day and a resident of the state in which the person is registering in.
"I think it's important to vote even if you just turned 18," said Matthew Perry who will be voting in November for the first time in his life.
Louis Delgado also registered outside a Las Cruces Walmart to help his children's future.
"I want my kids, the future of America, to have a future and go to college," Delgado said.
Once registered, voters will receive a voter card in a couple of weeks with plenty of time to vote in November.
