Protect Your Animals from Bugs and Weeds

EL PASO, TX — We've told you about the increase of bugs and weeds due to our heat, but how can those two affect our pets? We asked Dr. Jody Kinkaid in Anthony. Kinkaid says some weeds and stickers may get caught in paws and cause irritation. In addition he says many bug and weed killers will cause an upset stomach for your dog or cat. It may be better to keep them indoors until pesticides or herbicides are dry before letting them to go back outside. He says, for stronger yard treatments, it could take several hours.
