Power went out in east El Paso at about 6:45 Wednesday evening. It was restored by 7:30.
The outage in the Cielo Vista, Eastwood area took several traffic lights out of commission, causing at least three crashes, and forcing El Paso Police to direct traffic in some areas.
El Paso Electric says 5,000 customers were affected. The company could not give a reason for the outage. The same area was affected by a power outage Tuesday afternoon.
