Power restored to more than 8,000 El Paso Electric customers

UPDATE: A spokesperson with El Paso Electric confirmed that power was restored to the area around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.

EARLIER: El Paso Electric officials confirm that there are approximately 8,026 people without power in East El Paso after two transformers went out just after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The area affected is east of Joe Battle/Loop 375 and Zaragoza.

Please use caution while traveling through intersections in the area, and come to a complete stop before proceeding through the intersection.

Crews are on site and expect the power to be restored within 20-30 minutes.
