Cesar Blanco defeats former State Representative Norma Chavez grabbing 68-percent of the democratic vote, while Chavez secured 32-percent. At Blanco's watch party at Leo's Mexican Restaurant in East El Paso, Blanco was surrounded by supporters, family and friends as they watched the unofficial numbers tally in his favor.

A surprising twist, Norma Chavez, who has previously stated that Blanco does not have enough experience to be District 76's State Rep. conceded the race around 7 pm, Tuesday, and congratulated Blanco on his win. "I thought that was classy. I think her showing up, I think it’s closure and we’re going to move forward, when we spoke a little bit we talked about getting some coffee," the Navy veteran said of the former State Rep's visit.

Blanco is a former Chief of Staff to Ciro Rodriguez and Pete Gallego. He will face former El Paso City Councilman, Alejandro Lozano in November in the General election. Lozano is a Libertarian, there is no Republican candidate in this race.
