Wednesday, October 10, 2012 - 4:43pm

Today, internet rumors ran rampant over the pending sale of the Tucson Padres to El Paso's MountainStar Sports Group. It seems as if something, whether it be an announcement or actual sale, is pending, as the Media Relations/PR group representing the MoutainStar Sports Group issued a statement today saying there is a press conference scheduled for tomorrow, and it will include Pacific Coast League President Branch B. Rickey.

The Media Relations/PR group said they will release more information Thursday morning with regards to the press conference.

The San Diego Padres have had their Triple-A affiliate, Tucson, on the market for some time, and they chose Tucson as a temporary home for the team after a proposed ballpark in Escondido, California, fell through. El Paso's MountainStar Sports Group has put in a bid to buy the team, and last month, submitted a Control Interest Transfer and was awaiting approval from the Pacific Coast League on the sale.
