Olympic hero Oscar Pistorius granted bail

(CNN) — Olympic hero Oscar Pistorius was granted bail Friday pending trial in the death of his model girlfriend.

The ruling came down in a court room in Pretoria, South Africa .The double amputee is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on February 14th. Prosecutors argued Pistorius was a flight risk and should be held behind bars.

The judge disagreed and ruled that he was not a risk to the public.
