President Obama has chosen Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to be the new chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee.

Wasserman-Schultz replaces Tim Kaine, who was also the governor of Virginia for one term.

The congresswoman was first elected in 2004, and was one of her party's leading forces in 2008, as the democrats successfully turned a number of house “red” seats, “blue”.
