(CNN) — North Korea served up its latest round of threats against the United States today (Tuesday).
The North Korean military said it plans to place military units tasked with targeting U-S bases under combat-ready status. The statement was carried by North Korea's state-run news agency.
Angered by tougher U-N sanctions and joint military exercises by the U-S and South Korea, North Korea has issued a range of threats in recent weeks.
The U-S Defense Department responded to North Korea's latest saber-rattling by reiterating its confidence that it can fend off whatever the regime can come up with.
