A 'higher' education is getting 'lower' on the totem pole. Ratings agency, Moody, says the outlook for the higher education sector has turned sour.
The agency had previously given higher education a 'stable' outlook for market-leading research universities and negative for the rest of higher education, but it now says it's revising its outlook to 'negative' for the entire sector.
According to Moody, even prestigious, top-tier research universities are under threat from declining enrollment, government spending cuts, and a growing public doubt about the value of a college degree.
