Life can feel like a marathon, but you don't need to run one to stay in shape. Physical fitness experts say walking, riding a bike, even a weekly zumba class can keep you feeling your best.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average person should try to get in at least 150 minutes of exercise a week, and even 10 minutes at a time is fine. Sure, it sounds like a lot, but if you add it up, it only comes to two and half hours a week.

If you break up your routine in 10, 20 or 30 minute increments, the affects of physical activity will pay off. The best way to stay active is to engage in moderate or vigorous exercise. Add a little strength training, two or more days a week, and your muscles and bones will thank you.

And if don't think that walking isn't an activity. A brisk stroll for a half-hour or more can do wonders for the body. The best thing: there's no need for fancy shoes, or a gym membership.
