(CNN) — The gunman in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting was reportedly obsessed with mass murders. That's what a source close to the investigation tells C-N-N.
This follows an earlier C-B-S report that Lanza may have been trying to outdo Anders Behring Breivik - the Norwegian man who killed 77 people in 20-11. C-B-S is also reporting the 20-year-old was obsessed with violent video games and was acting out a fantasy.
Lanza reportedly went to the Connecticut school on December 14 because it was the "easiest target" and had the "largest cluster of people." Connecticut State Police have dismissed the C-B-S report, calling it speculation.
Police say Lanza shot himself after killing his mother and 26 people, including 20 children at Sandy Hook Elementary.
