Couples are spending more on weddings than ever before. A survey by www.theknot.com found they spent an average of 30-thousand dollars last year. Venue and catering expenses ate up 13-thousand dollars of the budget.

Other big ticket items included engagement rings, reception bands, flowers and wedding photos. Much of the cost depends on location. If you plan to get hitched in a big city, you can expect to pay a premium for your wedding.  The New York City average is nearly 87-grand!
