LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez signed legislation Thursday afternoon that will create a one stop-shop online business portal.
The state will develop a website where companies can find the necessary information from various state departments needed to operate in New Mexico.
"It's easier for businesses than hopping from office to office or having to travel out of their city to get all of this done," said Governor Susana Martinez.
The bi-partisan idea introduced by Senator Mary Kay Papen is intended to streamline the process of setting up shop in the state by reducing red tape and alleviating paperwork.
Martinez said companies like Las Cruces Machine are then able to focus their attention on growing their business and provide more jobs.
The newly signed law is part of an effort to grow the private sector in the state by becoming more business friendly.
