NEW MEXICO — State senators in New Mexico Thursday approved a bill allowing additional school absences for pregnant teenagers.
The measure now heads to Governor Susana Martinez for her consideration.
The bill cleared the senate late yesterday on a vote of 37 to 3.
It previously was approved 56 to 12 by the House of Representatives.
All the negative votes were by republicans.
