Texas veterans will have an easier time getting around with their service animals soon. Today Governor Rick Perry signed a bill that will allow individuals with disabilities to use the assistance of service animals in all public places without having to show the qualifications or certifications of the assistance animal.

That includes retail businesses and restaurants. Created as a measure to prevent discrimination, businesses and public facilities may inquire about the type of assistance provided by the animal for purpose of admittance, but cannot deny entry to the animal.

"Military City USA is a very appropriate place to come and to celebrate not only the men and women behind me, but the animals that make a difference in their lives. it's our wounded warriors, just like these men and women that are with us today," said Texas Governor Rick Perry.

This bill will become law on September 1st.
