EL PASO — The Crime Victims Rights Council will add 67 new names to the Crime Victims Memorial.
They are the names of victims who died in violent crimes and drunk driving crashes in 2011.
Speakers from several local organizations including Center Against Family Violence, Advocacy Center for the Children of El Paso, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), STARS (El Paso Rape Crisis Center), Child Protective Services, and MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) will participate in Thursday's event.
The event will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Crime Victims Memorial Reading Garden Pavilion at 610 North Yarbrough, between Judge Edward Marquez Library & Yucca Park.
A total of 1,374 names will be read during a ceremony at the District Attorney's Office on April 22.
