EL PASO (KDBC) — Music has taken over downtown El Paso. The 13th Annual Streetfest is well underway as thousands of people pack the area.
"It's a good time, good music, good food, good people, good energy," said Alexis Martinez.
There are five stages for music fans to pick from; including the main stage which will host headliners Three Days Grace, The Wallflowers and The All American Rejects.
Bands that have music fans excited for the weekend festival.
"It's good to see that things are finally moving forward,” said Keoni Vidalez. “I just love to see it. Everyone is coming out. It's good to have the good vibes and good people."
Event organizers say last year's Streetfest drew in about 21,000 people for the entire weekend, a number they hope to break at this year’s festival.
"We are expecting 25,000. We are so excited. Every year this festival grows, it snowballs,” said event organizer Veronica Hernandez. “We are excited to say that we hope to have at least 25,000 people or more."
If music isn't your thing, there is also a car show inside the Convention Center featuring classic cars from around the country.
There are also over a dozen food and drink venders.
"We want them to just experience the festival atmosphere. Take advantages of anything that they here or taste and just have fun," said Hernandez.
Streetfest is one of the first large music festivals to come to the downtown area.
Now with the new ballpark and other festivals, people say they are looking to all the events in the area this summer.
"People don't realize all that El Paso has to offer,” said Felicia Garcia. “It's nice to have something like this once a year to show people to music, the food and the fun and all that good stuff."
Three Days Grace took the stage Saturday night. If you missed out, the fun will continue Sunday with The All American Rejects.
