CNN — Ever wonder which cities of the world might be the most trustworthy? Reader's Digest did!
Researchers dropped 12 wallets in the major cities of the world and waited to see how many people would return them.
The number one city with the highest rate of return is Helsinki, Finland.
Reader's Digest says residents in Helsinki returned 11 out of 12 wallets, by far the highest number in the study.
Mumbai, India was number two. Mumbai residents returned nine out of 12 wallets.
Budapest, Hungary and New York City tied for third place.
Residents in those two cities returned 8 out of the 12 wallets.
Number 5 is Moscow, Russia. Seven out of 12 wallets were returned by Muscovites.
The most dishonest cities? Reader's Digest says that's Lisbon, Portugal, where just one out of every 12 wallets was returned.
In Madrid, Spain, residents returned just two of the 12 wallets dropped in the city.
