EL PASO,TX — November 17th is the national adoption day and fifteen kids in the Borderland now have a place to call home. On Saturday, fifteen kids were adopted into twelve new homes. An adoption ceremony was held at the El Paso County Courthouse Saturday morning. Nationwide more than 400,000 children are in foster care and of these children more than 100,000 are available for adoption. Here in Texas, 6,400 children are available for adoption, 134 of those kids are here in El Paso. Unfortunately, the average child in foster care moves three or more times, is separated from siblings and waits at least five years to be adopted or worse, stays in the foster care system until the age of eighteen.
