Montana Vista and El Paso Fire Departments respond to auto shop fire

Sunday, January 6, 2013 - 8:46pm

Firefighters responded to a fire at an auto body shop on Turf Rd. in Montana Vista Sunday afternoon.

According to Fire Chief Roland Glidden with the Montana Vista Fire Department, Montana Vista fire crews responded about 1:00 p.m. Sunday, and also received backup from the El Paso Fire Department.

"Upon arrival, they found some pallets and tires on fire out in the back of the building, up next to the building," said Glidden.

Investigators do not believe anyone was working inside the shop at the time.

The official cause of the blaze remains under investigation, but Glidden said investigators suspect it was an electrical problem.

No injuries were reported.
