Mobile homes threatened in Chaparral fire

CHAPARRAL, N.M. (KDBC) — Deputies with the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office were helping to control traffic around a residential area in Chaparral where at least three mobile homes were on fire.

Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the 400 block of East Lisa Drive. They were being assisted by at least one fire department from El Paso County.

The area is just east of McCombs, between Coles and Amparo Road. Motorists in the area were being asked to clear the way for emergency crews and first responders.

The cause of the fire is unknown. There are no injuries reported at this time.
