Military cuts to affect full Fort Bliss brigade

Tuesday, June 25, 2013 - 6:02pm

An entire brigade is being slashed at Fort Bliss as the Army begins cutting forces across the country.

The Army plans to reduce the number of active duty combat brigades from 45 to 33 nationwide as part of a restructuring plan that will ultimately cut the size of the Army by 80 thousand soldiers.

Fort Bliss has not yet confirmed which brigade is being cut. A press conference was scheduled for tomorrow on post. The reduction will take place over the next four years.
