MEXICO CITY— Adulterers, relax. Mexico will no longer find adultery illegal. But some states will.
Mexico's congress voted to take off adultery from its list of criminal offenses. Their reasoning— the law as it existed was not being enforced.
The vote was nearly unanimous. No one had been charged with adultery since 2004.
And while Mexico as a nation won't consider it illegal, some states still have their laws against adultery in place.
