El Paso, TX (KDBC) — Mexico is now the world's fattest country.
According to a new report released by the United Nations, Mexico has a 32.8 percent adult obesity rate.
That's the highest in the world, just one percentage point above America's 31.8 percent rate.
Childhood obesity has tripled over the last decade in Mexico and 70,000 people die in the country every year from diabetes.
Experts cite the spread of junk food and a more sedentary lifestyle behind the spike in obesity.
