Mexican investigative journalist to speak at UTEP about drug war

A Mexican investigative journalist will talk about Mexico's drug war on the UTEP campus.

Journalist Anabel Hernandez will be at the university Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday, she'll speak in depth about the drug war and its impact on journalists in the area, "Drug Policy on the Border and Beyond: Dangers Facing Journalists, Obstacles Facing Policy Makers." If you'd like to attend that event, it'll be held at the Tomas River Conference Center in the Union Cinema at UTEP from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, Hernandez will deliver a speech entitled, "The Drug War on the Border and Beyond: Covering One of the World's Most Dangerous Topics." That event will be held in the Union Cinema as well. It'll take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Hernandez is known to be one of the very few journalists willing to take on the both the drug war and government corruption.
