Mexican government bans U.S. shoe imports

If you live in Juarez, expect to pay more for your next pair of sneakers.

The Mexican government is banning all imports of shoes from the United States.

Shoe companies in Mexico have reported declining shoe sales recently, and blame cheaper imports from the U.S.

Economists expect many businesses in border cities will try and avoid the ban by purchasing shoes in the U.S. and smuggling them across the border.
