Anthony, TX - Road workers were honored in Anthony, Texas with a memorial that tours the nation.

The National Work Zone Memorial pays tribute to men and women killed in road work zones.

Names of 100 victims line the banners of the memorial.

El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen used the occasion to remind everyone to put safety first in work zones...

"Consequently we will probably always have jobs due that fact that people basically don't respect one another when it comes to rules of the road and that is unfortunate because people's lives hinge on people following the rules."

In addition to traffic deaths, more than 40,000 people are injured in work zone crashes every year.
