MC Hammer arrested in California

(CNN) — Police in Dublin, California arrested the entertainer on Thursday night.  Police said he was interfering with their police duties and resisting an officer.

No word what led to the initial contact.  Hammer was booked and then released.

Police said there were no drugs or alcohol involved.

MC Hammer has been in the news lately for his dancing and rapping.

He performed with Korean rap star Psy at the American Music Awards in November.
