No one in the Martinez family got much sleep last night, that includes Jennifer Martinez.
"I never thought that this would happen to my niece," Martinez said.
She'd babysit for Neveah any chance she got.
"I would take care of her for them to go out because I love, I love being with her," Martinez said.
According to Jennifer, her sister's boyfriend, Irving Gomez, called her Friday morning and told her to come to the hospital. Jennifer didn't know what to expect.
"I don't know what to say," Martinez said. "I don't know why he was there acting like nothing happened. I dont' know what was in his mind ".
Neveah was dead. Family tells us police told them she died suffocation.
"When I looked at him he just had his eyes like wide and he was just staring at me and I was thinking maybe something happened that he doesn't want to tell us," Martinez said.
